Wedding Announcement

Before an improvised altar banked with palms, ferns, and basket arrangements of gladioli, snapdragons, and achillea, Evelyn Sorensen became the bride of Adrian R. M. Lauritzen. The ceremony was performed by the writer at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. Sorensen, at Pelican Rapids, on Sunday, August 2. Mr. Lauritzen is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Lauritzen of Maple Plain, Minnesota. The bride's sister, Mae Sorensen, was maid of honor, and Merlyn Johnson of Minneapolis, was bridesmaid. The flower girl, Frances Larson, was a niece of the bride. The groom's attendants were E. D. Sorensen, brother of the bride, and J. O. Iversen. Betty Christenson, of Hutchinson, played wedding selections on the piano and accompanied Merlyn Johnson and Jay Lantry, who rendered vocal numbers. Following the wedding a reception was held on the lawn. As lunch was served, vocal and instrumental music was a fitting back ground. The couple, after a wedding trip to the Black Hills, have made their home at Hutchinson where both are members of the teaching staff of Maplewood Academy.
